Gantt Charts and their uses

December 10, 2022
Gannt Charts are often overlooked but can be hugely beneficial within the marketing and, overall, running of a business.
We predominantly use Gannt Charts for the planning and tracking of processes and tasks that take place during the running of our business. They are hugely beneficial for working out realistic time frames and should there be any kind of hold up at any point, we can easily see where this has occurred and how this will impact the ETA of the project that we’re working on.
Gannt Charts are also massively helpful to advise the customer as to when we will need requested information from them by. We have had customers in the past who have complained that their project is running behind, however, when we can use facts assisted by charts, such as a Gannt, we can politely and professionally show them that it has not been us that has held the project up.
We predominantly use these charts on clients who are having a certain type of work done by us. We would recommend that anyone in the industry also use them as well. However, you should always liaise with your team and get realistic time frames when putting one together or else you will spend all your time updating it and quite possibly your client in turn. If you work off realistic time frames that have been provided by your team, rather than trying to rush your team, then it should be far easier to manage a realistic time frame, manage clients’ expectations and save yourself time in turn.
When used correctly Gannt Charts are great for not only time management but also so you can see if there is a problem in a particular part of your team and keeping you in the know with what project should be at what stage. This means that your team should only have to update you, because let’s face it, we know you have a million other things to do, if there’s a problem which will impact the deadline of the project.
