Frogs belong to the class Amphibia, which also includes salamanders and caecilians.

Frogs are carnivorous and mostly eat insects, worms, and other small invertebrates.

Most frogs have moist, smooth skin that helps them absorb water and electrolytes. Some species have rough, warty skin or skin that is covered in toxic secretions to deter predators.

Frogs have long, powerful legs that they use for jumping and swimming. Some species can jump more than 20 times their own body length in a single leap.

Frogs have excellent eyesight and are able to see in color. They have large eyes that are positioned on the sides of their head, giving them a wide field of vision.

Frogs have a three-chambered heart, with two atria and one ventricle. This allows them to move oxygenated and deoxygenated blood through their body separately.

Frogs are able to breathe through their skin as well as through their lungs. This allows them to extract oxygen from water as well as from the air.

Frogs are cold-blooded, meaning that their body temperature is regulated by the environment. They are most active when the weather is warm.

Many species of frog undergo metamorphosis, in which they transform from a juvenile, aquatic form into an adult, terrestrial form. During metamorphosis, the frog's body changes dramatically, with the development of legs, the loss of gills, and the appearance of a tongue.
