What's new?

We really did create a "monster" when we came up with the idea, which we then executed, for Screaming Squid. That said, this monster isn't viscuous or the stuff of nightmares. This monster is fun, somewhat needy, and, ultimately, loveable. It's growing like a weed as well, but a pretty one, not a nettle or something like that. 

The point is, it's a great monster which, while still requiring some TLC, is quickly taking on a life of it's own and we're loving it. 

So, I'm going to have to keep this somewhat vague, however, on New Years' Day, Mr Squid came up with a great way to streamline certain parts of the stuff that we do behind the scenes. He then proceeded to look into ways to streamline things even further. Just what he implemented at the very start of the year has been a complete game changer and one of his many fantastic contributions towards Screaming Squid (if I listed them all, I genuinely think I'd be here for hours). 

We found out over the last couple of days that we're ranking for one search term in particular, and we've been getting increased traffic for other search terms which is really great news. 

We're now looking at getting rankings for other search terms as well now and should have an update in the next few days with any luck!

We're now ranking for more and more search terms which we're really happy with. 

Other rankings have been going up and down and then back up again, these are one's that we're waiting to "settle" before we can get an accurate reading on and look to improve wherever possible (you can't improve on position one!) 

Meanwhile extra content pages have started to be created to boost the SEO efforts further. 

Well, today sucked. Mr Squid was ill so we left him to get the rest that he obviously needed. 

Meanwhile, we carried on putting together SEO content pages together while wishing him a speedy recovery. 

It's the weekend and although Mr Squid has has ups and down regarding the bug he's caught, it's been a fruitful weekend. All the extra content pages have been done, Mr Squid has put together an awesome "mega menu" on our staging site, ready to be imported to the main site once all the content we have on the site already has been sifted through and categorised accordingly and pages styled accordingly. 

Week on week we keep on making progress with the site and upgrading it wherever possible. It's really exciting to keep seeing it develop!
